Mormons and John Paul 'the Great'

'Most Abominable'

Dear P.N.,

Under "What People are Commenting," I read your letter titled "A Mormon Protests," posted on the Tradition in Action website on June 29, 2007. Since your protest was about my article on LDS, titled "Mormon Enigmas" (posted on June 5, 2007), I wish to make a response.

After reading this answer, I suggest you read my essay for a second time, and then do some honest reflection. Unfortunately, your manner of thinking has much in common with progressivists, because the substance of a dispute is never addressed. In my essay I covered about ten points, all of them quite serious, about LDS crotchets. You made a pretense of refuting one doctrinal issue, but it was meaningless.

As for the other nine points, you made no attempt at a genuine refutation.

You stated that the doctrine of LDS about the Catholic Church was taught in the past, but it "is not an LDS church teaching." By its nature, a doctrine (or dogma) is "indisputable." It is locked in stone. You can't treat it like a shell game, now you see it, now you don't. Isn't it possible that the Mormon doctrine about the Catholic Church being "most abominable" wasn't spiked at all, but merely sequestered for reasons of political correctness?

Next you offer as proof that the doctrine has disappeared the fact that LDS gives tithing money to Catholic Charities. This is a mere appeal to emotions, a fallacy of relevance called argumentum ad populum. It is not proof but mere words. You might consider taking a course in logic, because in classrooms and courtrooms this kind of stale dictum is not admitted.

Lastly, you accuse me of "hating us." Like the rest of your letter, this is purely gratuitous. "Us" is a collective pronoun. If I dispute LDS teaching and its eccentric interpretation of history, this is an argument not against people but its errors. I'll answer your "hate" accusation with a personal note. I'm from a law enforcement background. During my career, when I was still in patrol cars, I had two Mormon partners. On the natural level, they were two of the best cops I ever worked with, and I relate that little anecdote to all Mormons with whom I speak.

Mutatis mutandis, when I discuss Mormon teaching with LDS members, it goes absolutely nowhere. It can 't, in fact, go anywhere, because the first principle of Mormonism rests on the premise of magic glasses, golden tablets that disappeared, a text called "reformed Egyptian" unknown to the discipline of philology, a hired man under a blanket, and a book born from all this which embarrassingly contradicts numerous historical, logical and other scholarly facts. Because of this, the best a Mormon can do in a discussion about the truth of his beliefs, is say, "Well, that's the way it is. Take it or leave it."

In closing I thank you for the opportunity to broaden my former essay.

Pope St. Pontian and John Paul the Great
WhatPeopleAreSaying02_Cir_sm.jpg - 24011 Bytes
John Paul the Great? Not to be outdone by Nero, while Rome burned Karol Wojtyla enjoyed more than 100 Italian Alps ski junkets, so reveals his biographer, confidant, and ski buddy. Other Popes could not enjoy such bon vivant luxuries.

Having been condemned September 27, 235 A.D in metallum (to the mines) for his Catholic Faith, Pope St. Pontian was force-marched from the port, Othoca, to the Sardinian lead mines. His left eye was gouged out with a dagger and the socket cauterized with molten iron. The joints of his left foot were burned to cause painful scarification, thereby impairing walking. A nerve, the peroneal nerve, was severed by a stab wound behind his right knee, to further impair his walking. He was branded on the forehead. Iron rings were soldered around his ankles; then, manacled, his ankles were tethered by a heavy chain to a painfully constricting iron ring around his waist so short that he could only stoop, never to stand straight again.

After being burned, stabbed, chained and branded, he was scourged with sixty lashes against a stone obelisk, then immediately sent with pick and shovel into the choking, poisonous dust of the lead mines to work 20 of every 24 hours, subsisting (between beatings) on one meal of coarse bread and water daily; until late in January 236 A.D. when he was martyred.

Catholic martyrs have been flayed, grilled on a gridiron, burned, boiled, beaten, devoured, gored, racked, stoned, crushed, drowned, asphyxiated, garroted, hanged, axed, guillotined, impaled, stabbed, flogged, eviscerated, torn, quartered, pummeled, poisoned, gassed, shot, buried, frozen, starved, and worked to death because of their defense of our authentic Catholic Faith.

"And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword" (Matt 10:28-34).

Blessed Pius IX fled Rome incognito through mobs and the military forces of the world arrayed against him. Pius XII remained in Rome while enemy armies surrounded the Vatican. But no such forces were arrayed against Wojtyla. His compromises and capitulations were so nearly complete and for that, the world loved Wojtyla. His idolizing cult of personality is the basis for his title "the Great."

His punishingly long pontificate was a chastisement for the faithful and the innocent. Criminal perverts and enablers of perverts were promoted to be Princes of the Church. Mockery of God, disobedience, liturgical abominations, heresy, perversion and embezzlement abounded, yet he never raised a hand to discipline except to punish the Athanasius of our times. Per singulos dies he was modern proof of St. Basil's observation: 'Only one offense is now vigorously punished, an accurate observance of our fathers' traditions."

For this reason, the pious are driven from their countries, and transported into deserts. He emptied the mission fields and prohibited spreading the Faith. Conversions were refused. Tabernacles were emptied and hidden; Buddha statues and goat sacrifices took the place of the Blessed Sacrament at Assisi and elsewhere. He apologized for falsified history, and so honored heresy, schism, paganism, and Pharisaism that he eternally doomed numberless adherents to their errors. Defying Jesus' judgment, he proclaimed the synagogue of Satan to be "our Elder Brothers in the Faith."

He administered a geopolitical saint factory. He so abrogated his duty to speak the Truth, catechize in clarity, and discipline justly that he may have been an accomplice to every sin. He blasphemed his protectress, Our Lady of Fatima, by desecrating her shrine with paganism, indifferentism, and syncretism, propagating a cunning half-truth for the Third Secret, and failing to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart precisely as she requested, explicitly naming Russia and making the consecration along with all the Bishops at the same time.

He filled numerous shelves with personalist prose, but never a condemnation of Communism. The Polish Roman Catholic Church Historical Commission has revealed that John Paul II's confidants and associates collaborated with the Communist secret police who tortured and martyred the truly faithful priests and Prelates. The Vatican has ordered that the investigations and revelations be stopped. Can the Great Pope not sustain such an investigation?

In short, that Holy Father of sad memory made the Jews only a biblical type and the Novus Ordo neo-Pharisees the fulfillment of Isaiah 5:20 and Matthew 23:15. There has been no worse Pope in history; not Liberius, not Honorius, not the Borgia Popes. The devastation that Wojtyla the Worst left behind disqualifies him from the company of the truly great Popes. We pray that he repented in time to be saved, but he is no example to be raised to the altar or to have any Catholic institution named for him.

John Paul the Great? Santo Subito?

"Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter" Isaiah 5:20
"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves" (Matthew 23:15).
