Nuns dressed up in Halloween costumes

Dominican nuns celebrate Halloween

In the Convent of the Dominican Nuns of Summit, New Jersey, Dominican nuns wear witch hats and masks to celebrate the day of Halloween 2006.

When one considers that St. Dominic of Guzman, the Founder of the Order, fought principally against the Cathars and Albigensians - a heresy associated with witchcraft - one sees that we are witnessing
a tacit apostasy of his daugthers.

St. Dominic was also known for his seriousness of purpose and austerity of manners, two things hardly present in these American Dominican nuns.
