Church Revolution in Pictures

Photo of the Week

Pope at the Revolution Palace - Havana

Benedict XVI at the Revolution Palace in Havana

The surrealistic photo above shows Pope Ratzinger at the Palácio de la Revolución, the Palace of the Revolution in Havana, made to boast the Communist victory over Catholicism in Cuba.

He easily could have avoided going to that symbolic place, but he deliberately did so to show his respect for Cuban Communism and its dictator Raul Castro, whom he met there. The sun, in the stainglass window behind them, symbolizes the "light" of Communism spreading over the world...

It is another humiliation for Our Lord Jesus Christ, of Whom Benedict is the Vicar, in the chain of humiliations unleashed by him during his recent visit to Cuba.

We manifest our rejection of this act and we express our sadness that it happened. We offer reparation to Our Lord for this offense and invite our readers to do likewise, especially during the Holy Week that begins Monday.
