Holy Week Liturgy

Habitabit in Tabernaculo

Habitabit in Tabernaculo speaks of the happiness to be enjoyed by the just, and the rest that will be the reward of his labors. The Church applies it to Christ, the Just One by excellence, who went about doing good.

Habitabit in Tabernaculo is the second antiphon for Holy Saturday.
It is here sung by Marek Klein.

Latin lyrics

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Domine, quis habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Aut quis requiescet in monte sancto tuo?

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Qui ingreditur sine macula:
Et operatur justitiam.
Qui loquitur veritatem in corde suo.

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Qui non egit dolum in lingua sua;
Nec fecit proximo suo malum
Et opprobrium non intulit proximo suo.

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Ad nihilum deductus es
In conspectu ejus malignus:
Timentes autem Dominum glorificant.

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Qui iuravit in detrimentum suum et non mutat,
Qui pecuniam suam non dedit ad usuram
Et munera super innocentem non accepit.

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.

Qui facit haec,
Non movebitur in aeternum.

Habitabit in tabernaculo tuo:
Requiescet in monte sancto tuo.
English translation

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.

Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle?
Or who shall rest in thy holy hill?

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill,

He that walketh without blemish,
And worketh justice,
He that speaketh truth in his heart.

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.

He that hath not used deceit in his tongue;
Nor hath doth harm to his neighbor
And speaketh not against his neighbor.

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.

The malignant is brought
To naught in his sight:
But he glorifieth them that fear the Lord.

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.

He that swears to his own detriment, and changes not.
He that puts not out his money to usury,
Nor takes reward against the innocent.

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.

He that doth these things,
Shall not be moved for ever.

He shall dwell in thy tabernacle:
He shall rest in thy holy hill.
