Do wear a tailcoat & white tie for gala events
At a time when we see countless members of the higher social classes adhering to an undignified vulgar fashion by rejecting wearing even a tie, it is refreshing to see Prince Christian, the Heir Prince of Denmark, in full gala attire, above. On January 1, following a national tradition, the Monarchs of Denmark King Frederik X and Queen Mary offered a banquet to members of the Royal Court and government officials. It was the first time King Frederik hosted this ceremony since he became King on January 14, 2024.
It was the first time also that Prince Christian, who is now 19-years-old, attended this banquet. By wearing a tailcoat and white tie at this age, he gives a good lesson to many older men who try to wear casual outfits to appear younger. The latter do not realize that what gives prestige to old age is dignity, not a ridiculous imitation of the youth.
Bellow first row, he is pictured being greeted by Colonel Jens Rossen-Jorgesen, chief of protocol; second row, his parents, King Frederik and Queen Mary, arrive at the Palace of Amalienborg for the banquet.
Prince Christian should be imitated by all
when it comes to attending ultra-formal events.
