Why Are Sodomites Attracted
to the Priesthood?

Erven Park
It is estimated by those who are in positions affording the study of the statistics that the Catholic priesthood in the United States is composed of from 25% to 60% of persons who are “homosexual.” Yet, contemporary studies reveal that the male general population consists of no more than a 1% to 2% ratio of homosexuals to the whole. This reflects a huge differential in percentages between those in the general population vis-à-vis that of the priesthood. A concerted influx of sodomites to the Catholic priesthood is a phenomenon that calls for scrutiny. Knowing that the Church is, and always has been, opposed to the sodomite “lifestyle,” why would such a disproportionate number of such individuals be attracted to its priesthood?

Logically, it would seem that persons would not seek life long commitments to vocations that are adversarial to their own strongly held sexual [1] appetites. The opposite case being the reality, however, tells us there is fault in that logic.

Moreover, this fault must fall upon two specific subjects: 1) The accessibility of the office - Am I to be accepted and/or welcomed? 2) The personal benefits accruing to my emotional and philosophical essence (homosexuality).

Accessibility

Whereas the constant teaching of the Church, through its Magisterium, Canon Law and Scripture, has always ruled against the ordination of those having sodomite tendencies, it would only be natural that the faithful would presume that as a consequence, Bishops and their seminaries would have had in place policies discouraging such enrollments. We have come to find out, however, that most Bishops took it upon themselves (stealthily unannounced to the laity) to go against the Church's teaching and to not only ordain but to recruit the sodomite-attracted to the priesthood.

This had a compounding effect, not only in the stimulation of numbers, but it also sent the message that the Church in reality was ignoring its own anathemas! Furthermore, although the faithful had no idea or conception of the scale of homosexuals being ordained, the buggerhood was fully aware of these numbers and as is common to their subculture, they were emboldened by those numbers for the security it assures.

So, we here see the “accessibility” of the homosexual to the priesthood turned on its ear to where the doors are not only open, but also the environment is furthered by those Bishops consenting to these “disordered” persons being housed and formed in an atmosphere that is unquestionably for them “the near occasion of sin.” Such folly is unfathomable.

A Bishop who goes against the wisdom/teaching of the Catholic Church (Christ) to take up the moral counsel of man (experts, psychologists, therapists, etc.) renders his own office afflicted by Christ’s consequent withdrawal of His Graces. God’s punishment for disobedience is to allow those who are disobedient, especially His consecrated ones, to suffer the consequences, which are inevitable as occasioned by that which they choose to reject. The price paid for this, besides the life long horrors and loss of Faith endured by the innocents who were abused, has just exceeded one billion dollars extracted from the faithful in the U.S., with no lessening of more financial penalties anywhere in sight.

Personal benefits and attractions

There would be no question that living the double life of the so-called “closeted homosexual,” with the constant fear of being exposed and possibly expelled, would have a deterring effect on those committed sodomites seeking the priesthood as a life long endeavor. If, however, there are assurances of acceptance, then the Catholic priesthood presents an idyllic “lifestyle” to the sodomite persona.

Before proceeding, it would be well to clarify some serious misconceptions regarding the sodomite character. There is much more to the sodomite disorder than just that of sexual depravity. Unrepentant sodomites are always the quintessential subversives [2] in that they are imbued internally with what St. Paul refers to as the “reprobate sense.” [3]

Although there are various means whereby a man may be a part of or taken into the sodomite subculture, we here address those specifically spoken of by St. Paul. Here we see the individual who, after attaining the age of reason, has consciously rejected God to idolize a creature (most often himself).

Now idolatry is the most grievous of sins, and "for this reasong God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.

"And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient, being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers: Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents. (Romans 1: 26-30)

You see, therefore, the sodomites spoken of by St. Paul, as well as that of St. Thomas Aquinas,[4] are first idolaters of self. Narcissism, then, is fundamental to their persona. One thus sees the great attraction that the Catholic priestly office presents to such individuals, i.e.:
  • The priest’s office bestows stature, honor and respect. These accruements need not be earned, they come with the office.

  • There is no real sacrifice or deprivation required; indeed, the priestly office insulates him from inquiry into his marital or societal status regarding female relationships he has or the lack thereof.

  • His all male environment is idyllic as regards his gender/sexual preferences.

  • His place in the center of in the liturgies gives satisfaction to his narcissist nature and the attire and rituals called for in Masses play to his sense of fantasies and theatre, which is so common to the persons afflicted with this disorder.

There is much more, the list could go on, but with what I presented here you can well understand why the sodomite character would greatly prize the priestly office. Moreover, once ordained, it poses a daunting task to unseat them.

What the Bishops have wrought via their disobedience is formidable indeed.

As St. Thomas Aquinas warns, “That which is borne of disobedience shall never bear good fruit.”

  1. Sexuality being mans most powerful attraction as well as being the most vulnerable to the debilitating forces of concupiscence.
  2. Subversive: 1: the act of subverting: the state of being subverted; especially: a systematic attempt to overthrow or undermine a government or institutional system by persons working secretly from within. Merriam-Webster Dictionary
