Muller’s Past on Pedophilia

Here is timely old news that some of your readers will like to keep in their files.

“German bishop (Gerhard Muller) apologizes over paedophile priest” Reuters 9-21-2007

In 2007, Bishop Gerhard Muller publicly apologized for reinstating a convicted child molester priest, Fr. Peter Kramer, who was consequently charged with sexually abusing a minor. Fr. Kramer was convicted of child molestation in 2000, underwent therapy, and was reinstated as a pastor by Bishop Mueller in 2004. He was charged with the new crime in August of 2007. (In March 2008 he pleaded guilty to charges of abuse.)

Residents of Riekofen were angry that they were not told about Kramer's criminal history, and the town's mayor accused Muller of covering up the priest's past, German media reported. The Bishop said that he acted properly in appointing Kramer, because even Jesus forgave the worst sinners.

As newly papal-appointed Prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of The Faith, Bishop Gerhard Muller is now officially in charge of the Vatican's Sex Crime Unit.

Peace as an Ideal

Dear TIA,

I have been wondering about the human ideal of establishing peace in the world. Is it a natural inclination of human beings to want peace, or is it some sort of a yearning brought about by so much confusion in these days?

I have seen those “Think Peace” bumper stickers and such, and wonder if this is part of a grand illusion, or whether it is another subtle means of attempting to subvert the Catholic mindset of fighting against our natural bad tendencies, falsehoods, etc.

I look forward to your response, if possible.

TIA responds:

Dear E.S.,

Peace is a natural aspiration of every man of normal constitution. It is to desire to have the necessary social harmony and leisure to organically develop his own personality and to be able to know, love and serve God on this earth, and later to participate in His glory for all eternity.

After the sin of Adam, however, we have two adverse factors to disturb this natural tendency. The first one, in our own nature, is the tendency of our intelligence to fall into error, our will to desire evil and our sensibility to revolt against the command of the intelligence and the will. The second one is the action of the Devil and his angels to induce us to sin.

Thus, the fight against these bad factors appears as a necessary consequence. The need to fight takes precedence over that initial aspiration for peace. We can only reach peace on this earth if we fight against our bad tendencies and the action of the Devil.

When, with the indispensable help of grace and the necessary mediation of Our Lady, we conquer these two adverse factors, we recover peace inside our souls. We are, then, in conditions to extend this fight to order our families, groups of friends and society. When an epoch reaches this stage of victory against original sin and the Devil, a just society is established. We say that we have “the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ - Pax Christi in Regno Christi

The Revolution knows this precarious equilibrium we have inside ourselves, and knows very well the action of the Devil, who is it's father. So, it promotes the dream of a universal peace without God and without fighting against our bad tendencies. It is a utopian peace. Even if it were achievable, it would be wrong. This revolutionary ideal of peace is a drug that removes people from their real duties in this life and leads them astray from their last end.

This explanation gives you an idea of the amount of truth and falsehood present in the revolutionary propaganda of peace around us.

We hope this can be of some assistance for you.

Pilgrimages to Quito - Our Lady of Good Success

Do you have any pilgrimages going to Our Lady of Good Success, or do you know of any one or group who takes pilgrims there? I would love to go and have a desire to go there, but do not know of any group going from the Louisiana (New Orleans) area. Please let me know who I can contact in this regard.

Please let me know as soon as possible.

Many thanks and God bless you abundantly.

TIA responds:

We do not organize pilgrimages. We can advise, however, the pilgrimages arranged by Excelsior Tours. It is very well-organized, with a daily Latin Mass.

You can find its site on our Links Page.

Motorcycle Gangs vs Ecologist Activists

I received recently this report from a friend. Although it happened in 2010, I believe it does not lose its symbolic aspect.

What a wonderful coming together of two diverse groups!

This is why PETA usually protests women wearing fur rather than bikers wearing leather. Sounds to me like the old saying, “You mess with the bull, and you get the horns.” I guess these characters thought that Bikers where going to be politically correct like the rest of the wimpy world.

In the picture you see how police found one of them.

Johnstown, PA (GlossyNews) - Local and state police scoured the hills outside rural Johnstown, Pennsylvania, after reports of three animal rights activists going missing after attempting to protest the wearing of leather at a large motorcycle gang rally this weekend. Two others, previously reported missing, were discovered by fast food workers “duct taped inside fast food restaurant dumpsters,” according to police officials.

“Something just went wrong,” said a still visibly shaken organizer of the protest. “Something just went horribly, horribly, wrong.”

The organizer said a group of concerned animal rights activist groups, “growing tired of throwing fake blood and shouting profanities at older women wearing leather or fur coats,” decided to protest the annual motorcycle club event “in a hope to show them our outrage at their wanton use of leather in their clothing and motor bike seats.” “In fact,” said the organizer, “motorcycle gangs are one of the biggest abusers of wearing leather, and we decided it was high time that we let them know that we disagree with them using it. Ergo, they should stop.”

According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960's era Volkswagen van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting “you're murderers” to passersby. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began.

“They …. on me!!!” charged one activist. “They grabbed me, said I looked like I was French, started calling me La Trene and duct taped me to a tree so they could …. on me all day!”

Still others claimed they were forced to eat hamburgers and hot dogs under duress. Those who resisted were allegedly held down while several bikers “… on their heads.”

Police officials declined comments on any leads or arrests due to the ongoing nature of the investigation; however, organizers for the motorcycle club rally expressed “surprise” at the allegations.

“That's preposterous,” said one high-ranking member of the biker organizing committee. “We were having a party, and these people showed up and were very rude to us. They threw things at us, called us names, and tried to ruin the entire event. So, what did we do? We invited them to the party! What could be more friendly than that? You know, just because we are all members of motorcycle clubs does not mean we do not care about inclusiveness. Personally, I think it shows a lack of character for them to be saying such nasty things about us after we bent over backwards to make them feel welcome.”

When confronted with the allegations of force-feeding the activist's meat, using them as ad hoc latrines, leaving them incapacitated in fast food restaurant dumpsters, and '…. on their heads,' the organizer declined to comment in detail. “That's just our secret handshake,” assured the organizer.
