Absence of Men, Hybrid Mass & Walsingham

Death of Masculinity

Dear TIA,

This article has a good phrase: “We must recover the idea that the marker of a true man is his moral strength, not his muscular fitness.”

I am just going to put this out there because I know there are a lot of young men (especially in the trad circles) who hate today's woman. They hate the feminists, they hate everything about them. And really there is not much there to like but they mistakenly believe they can fight it by being loud, obnoxious, roaring lions, like "he who has the biggest mouth wins."

The sad news is, they are never going to beat the feminists with their attitude. Why? Because the mark of a true man is his moral strength. And unless they develop that he is doomed to failure.

Sarah: We Are Heading toward a Hybrid Mass

TIA,

Read below. It sounds like more of the same to me.

If they can't banish the true Mass then they try to compromise it which is do violence to it.

     In JMJ,

     R.H.

Speaking in a meeting on the Latin Mass in Rome on September 14, 2017, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Summorum Pontificum, Cardinal Sarah, head of the Congregation for Divine Worship said he prefers to talk about a “positive enrichment” of both forms [of Mass] through wider contact between the two, suggesting greater space for silence is something the new Mass could learn from the old - while adding that he was merely speaking of possibilities, and that liturgical changes should not be “forced without study and adequate preparation and formation.”

The Guinean cardinal also referred to an interview he gave in July, speculating about a possible future reconciliation” between the two forms...

Finally, Sarah issued a challenge to his audience, asking that they stop calling themselves “traditionalists,” and stop allowing others to refer to them that way.

“You’re not enclosed in a box, or in a library or museum of curiosities,” he said. “You’re not ‘traditionalists.’ You’re Catholics of the Roman rite, like me, like the Holy Father, not second-class citizens in the Catholic Church because of your cult and spiritual practices.”

Those practices, he pointed out, were also those of “innumerable saints.”

He told the group that it should not become “enclosed or withdrawn into a ghetto, which an attitude of defensiveness dominates, and suffocates your witness to the world of today to which you are sent. “Ten years later,” he said, referring to the Summorum Pontificum anniversary, “If we haven’t broken the chains of the traditionalist ghetto yet, do it today!”

Sarah’s address was part of a conference pilgrimage organized by a group called Cœtus Internationalis Summorum Pontificum, devoted to studying and fostering Benedict XVI’s 2007 document.

Heresy of Universal Salvation in Orange County

TIA,

Here is an example of the apostasy that has been the fruit of Vatican II ecumenism.

There is no more one truth, one religion, one Church. We are all brothers walking and working together on the path of salvation.

This was heresy for 2000 years and still is.

Martin Uninvited

Dear TIA,

Good news! The pro-homosexual Jesuit Fr. James Martin was uninvited to deliver a talk at the Catholic University of America.

Please, read the summary below, which leads you to the original at National Catholic Reporter.

Keep up the good work.

Drunks in Heaven

Dear TIA,

Here is a video where a Bishop says in Spanish this blessing for the drunk:

- Well, now we will make another toast

- You all repeat after me: Who drinks, gets drunk, - who gets drunk, falls asleep, - who falls asleep, commits no sin, - who commits no sin, goes to heaven. And because to heaven we want to go, drink!

Dedicating England to Mary

Dear TIA,

Here is an interesting story, something uplifting for a change.

P.J.

England to be re-dedicated as Dowry of Mary

England will be re-dedicated as the Dowry of Mary in 2020, the rector of Walsingham Shrine has said.

Mgr John Armitage announced the plans while promoting a new prayer booklet encouraging Catholics to pray a novena to Our Lady of Walsingham.

Mgr Armitage, who became rector in 2014, helped to update the booklet. He told Independent Catholic News: “This novena in honor of Our Lady of Walsingham is the beginning of a National Novena of Prayer for our country which will help us prepare spiritually for the re-dedication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020 on the Solemnity of the Annunciation.”

England has been called the “Dowry of Mary” since around the 11th century. The title means that she acts in a special way as the nation’s protector.

After the Reformation, the title was used by recusants and Catholics in exile. In 1893, Pope Leo XIII told English pilgrims in Rome of “the wonderful filial love which burnt within the heart of your forefathers towards the great Mother of God.” The novena, whose text can be found here, is especially intended to be begun Friday, so as to finish on September 23, a day before the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham.

Mgr Armitage said: “It is hoped that through this novena every part of the Church in England and Wales will deeply embrace Our Lady of Walsingham as the powerful intercessor for these lands. It was a chance, he said, to reclaim “the great spiritual heritage which is ours of being the Dowry of Mary.”
