Roosevelt, La Salette & Merging Churches

Pius XII & Roosevelt

TIA,

Re: A Long History of Compromise & Conciliation

There is a quotation in TIA column John XXIII and Fatima that no source is provided and I believe is startling.

Here it is: "At the request of President Roosevelt, the Vatican has refrained from all polemics against the Communist regime ... May God grant that the free world may not have to regret my silence one day!"

Can you provide the source? I checked two of his speeches in September 1942 and it was not there. Please help!

In the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

     B.K.

The Editor asks:

Homer,

In the first part of your article, which we posted recently, you mentioned:

In September 1942, Pius XII said: “At the request of President Roosevelt, the Vatican has refrained from all polemics against the communist regime.”

A reader asked for the source of this quote. Do you have it? Thank you,

     In Jesu et Maria,

     Atila

Mr. Sweeney responds:

Atila,

The quote comes from the January 2007 edition of the Catholic Family News in an article written by Cornelia R. Ferreira titled "The United Nations: False Solution for World Peace."

The complete quote by Pius XII was "At the request of President Roosevelt, the Vatican has refrained from all polemics against the communist regime … May God grant that the free world may not have to regret my silence one day!" The quote appears under the picture of Pius XII which is found on page 14.

The author referenced to Frère Michel’s book The Whole Truth about Fatima, The Third Secret. The background and the history of this statement can be found starting on page 140 of the book. I just discovered in reading over these pages that Msgr. Montini seemed to have had a great deal of influence in the decision.

     Glad I could help,

     Homer

Discovering La Salette

TIA,

I've come across two other instances in which our Lady appeared to other children and a saintly nun Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres under the title of Our Lady of Good Success in Quito Ecuador in 1610, way before the infiltration of this new religious sect entered the Vatican to corruption began “Our Lady of La Salette” France to Melanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud in 1846 way ahead of these corrupted so-called Popes, Bishops, Archbishops, Cardinals and priests. We all need to get on our knees and pray for them and ourselves, that Jesus, Mary and Joseph remove them and all their false teaching from His Consecrated Church as prayer trumps all evil in Jesus name!

I've been troubled by the fact that our Traditional Mass has been corrupted the new theme is money!!!! They have changed everything especially the consecrated host being distributed on the hand by so called Eucharistic Ministers?! Our hands (non-priestly) aren't consecrated to touch it period, that's why it had been given in the mouth, by priest hands alone!

I ask that you get these two books and write the messages they contain in your website as it's the same as the 3rd secret of Fatima. This way, everyone who comes in to this page will read what the third secret of Fatima says and we can by this means be informed and start writing to our bishops and ask them to remove the false teachings and the false Popes, Cardinals and Bishops and Bishops as well as the false priests and nuns from our Church!

     God bless us all,

     K.M.

TIA responds:

K.M.,

Thank you for your e-mail and for your suggestions.

We are glad you came across the message of Our Lady of La Salette. You may benefit from reading the secrets of Melanie Calvat here and Maximin Giraud here.

Regarding the 3rd secret of Fatima you may read some curious discussions here.

Criminal Aliens Released

TIA,

And they wonder why President Trump needs to do something about illegal immigrants in this country.

You may find this hard to believe... This is the Obama administration.

This is why Trump’s platform about illegal immigration is resonating with so many Americans.

Watch this and pass it on, only 3½ minutes where the Chairman Chaffetz speaks about Criminal Aliens Released by the Department of Homeland Security during the Obama administration. It is dated 4/28/2016.

This is staggering. It is absolutely unbelievable. And it gets NO press.

The Self-Destruction of the Church Continues

Dear TIA,

I hope you have read this news report about the drastic reduction of the parishes/churches in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

It is self-explanatory of the direction the Vatican is giving to the particular churches following the orientation of Vatican II. It is the accomplishment of the agenda of Card. Ratzinger pointed out years ago.

It is sad to see how that plan is being relentlessly executed.

     Best regards,

     P.H.

Pittsburgh diocese panel proposes merging 188 parishes to 48

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania - A Diocese of Pittsburgh panel has recommended merging the current 188 parishes in the six-county diocese into 48.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the On Mission Commission’s recommendations are part of a restructuring process launched by Bishop David Zubik. The diocese earlier said it planned a dramatic reduction in the number of parishes due to declines in priests and church participation.

The commission recommends keeping multiple worship sites open in the parishes, although some churches would close. Also planned is streamlined administration with the goal of fewer but stronger parishes with better outreach.

The recommendations are to be reviewed by more diocesan boards in the coming months before final decisions in April.

The diocese spans Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Lawrence and Washington counties in Pennsylvania.

“All of the groupings were informed by what we learned at the district and parish meetings throughout the diocese,” Kathy Buechel, who chairs the On Mission Commission, said in an article in the diocesan newspaper, the Pittsburgh Catholic. “This was not the product of a rubber stamp process or foregone conclusions. It was Spirit-filled and solid.”

The list of recommendations does not say which church buildings would be closed.

On September 12, Zubik named Father Samuel Esposito as episcopal vicar for implementation of the On Mission planning initiative, beginning Oct. 1, 2017.

“New clergy teams will have to get to know one another in working together to become one parish,” Esposito told the Pittsburgh Catholic. “My responsibility will be to make sure the teams are on track and receive the support they need.”

According to the diocesan website, the plan will be executed in phases. The bishop is expected to announce all clergy assignments in March 2018, along with “groupings” of new parishes, which will be put into one of three categories.

According to the website:
  • Category A will include parishes that need to come together immediately, either due to serious financial or demographic issues or because they have indicated a readiness to proceed. These mergers would occur within a year of a pastor being assigned.

  • Category B will include the greatest number of parish groupings, with pastors bringing parishes together in one to three years.

  • Category C will be comprised of a number of larger parishes. Final mergers within these groupings of parishes will be implemented in three to five years.
The number of active priests in the Diocese of Pittsburgh is expected to decline from 211 to 112 by 2025.
