Pope Quiet on Nicaragua
TIA,
Francis is so busy worrying about people being “indifferent” and yet he appears indifferent to the persecution of the Church in Nicaragua.
He is also indifferent to all pleas from traditional Catholics.
What a two-faced Pope.

Pastoral Letter on Harry Potter
Dear TIA,
Some years ago I remember finding a pastoral letter from a Bishop which specifically mentioned the dangers of the Harry Potter series. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the internet. It was not the personal letter written by Cardinal Ratzinger but a pdf scan of a letter from a Bishop (perhaps Cardinal Burke) and it specifically named Harry Potter.
Do you have a copy of this letter or could any of your readers possibly have a copy? I would like to share it with my students.
Pax Christi,
M.W.
TIA responds:
Dear M.W.,
Unfortunately, we also are not able to find the pastoral letter, nor are we acquainted with it.
If any of our readers have a copy of the letter, we encourage them to send it to us so that we can forward it to you.
Cordially,

Was Benedict XV Linked to Rampolla?
Greetings,
My name is M. I have a question about the article about Benedict XV as disciple of Rampolla. I've read an article pointing out as possibly a freemason Rampolla no doubt is but Benedict XV I would like to know if you might have more information on him?
Best regards and God bless
M.C.B.
TIA responds:
Greetings M.C.B.,
As far as we know Cardinals Rampolla and Della Chiesa were very close friends and share the same orientation. Although there is evidence that Rampolla was linked to Freemasonry, we don’t know whether Della Chiesa was.
Regarding the close relationship between Rampolla and Della Chiesa, it is a useful piece of information the news report published by the weekly Independent from New York, on the election of Della Chiesa to the Papacy, becoming Benedict XV. We select and highlighted the parts that respond your question:
"The most surprised person at the election of Giacomo della Chiesa as Head of the Catholic Church was Benedict XV himself, for he knew his disqualifications as well as did his colleagues, and so had not contemplated the supreme dig- nity for the present . To begin with he is only sixty years old, which is quite young for a Pope, and means a probable pontificate of fifteen or twenty years; he has only been a Cardinal three months, and he was sent to his Archdiocese of Bologna, if not as a disgrace, at least to remove him from the Vatican , where , as Cardinal Rampolla's most faithful disciple, he was not persona grata. These were the disqualifications; the qualifications were less on the surface. Certainly the policy of Pius X was not looked upon with favor by many of the Cardinals nor was his easily influenced character considered the best for the Head of the Church in a crisis, and in turning to della Chiesa they found one who supposedly will follow Rampolla's policy, and who is strong and firm in whatever he does, while having a thorough knowledge of Church affairs through his training in the time of Leo XIII.
"He undoubtedly owed the first steps in his career to Cardinal Rampolla, who took him to Madrid when he was Nuncio there, and had him as his substitute when he himself was Secretary of State. Della Chiesa witnessed the fall of his patron, saw the sycophants drop away, even friends finding too little to be got out of it to make it worth while to visit the lonely recluse. But the loyalty and affection of della Chiesa never wavered. No matter what his cares or fatigue he paid his daily visit to Cardinal Rampolla, bringing a wave of affairs with him and brightening the declining years of his old friend and master, while on his part receiving counsel, and, more remarkable, acting on it . When Cardinal Rampolla died, Archbishop della Chiesa was in Bologna. He rushed to Rome and showed such violent and sincere grief that the saying, "like della Chiesa's love for Rampolla," became the symbol of fidelity at the Vatican."
We hope this is of some help to you.

Ave Maria Purissima!
Re: Is China No Longer Communist?
It is said the Devil's greatest deceit is to convince us he doesn't exist. So it is with Communism. Communism is alive and well in China where state control is all powerful. If you obey the rules the communists lay down, then you can have a good life and be promoted. If you have a conscience and refuse to be totally obedient, you will be punished.
It is a disgrace that the Vatican has kowtowed to this evil regime.
Please pray for the true Catholic people of China who are being persecuted now more than ever and abandoned by the Vatican.
Yours faithfully
C.P., Ireland
