Feminine Church & Fair Weather

Feminine Church

Dear TIA,

Well, even Point de Vue, a wordly magazine for nobles and elites, has entered to applaud the new progressivist lay woman Pope Leo XIV named as head of a Vatican Dicastery. According to the magazine, Leo’s aim is “a more feminine Church.” The women he appointed is Maria Montserrat, a great champion of religious freedom.

Also, Vatican News reported on the nomination. I copied and pasted that text below as well.

You can read the excerpts below.

     T.H.

Point de Vue reports: On June 2, 2026, Pope Leo XIV appointed Maria Montserrat Alvarado, a layperson, to head the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See. This historic first for the Vatican places the pontiff at the forefront of the reform process within the Curia, aiming for a more feminine Church.

A wind of change – almost a revolution? – is blowing through the world's smallest country. On June 2, Pope Leo XIV appointed Maria Montserrat Alvarado to head a key body within the Vatican's governance. She is "the first non-religious woman to be appointed Prefect of a Dicastery of the Holy See.”

Leo

Vatican News reports: This appointment allows the Bishop of Rome to continue the "process of reform and renewal of the Roman Curia initiated by Pope Francis." Maria Montserrat Alvarado, president of the media outlet EWTN News since 2023, will take up her duties in November at the Ministry of Communication, which oversees the print, radio, and television media services.

Born in Mexico, she chose the United States to pursue a bachelor's degree in political science at Florida International University and a master's degree in political management at George Washington University. She is fluent in English, as well as Spanish and French. Maria quickly gained recognition in the American debate for her advocacy of religious freedom. In 2024, she received the Religious Freedom Impact Award, a distinction recognizing her work in support of this fundamental right.

John Lennon Was Right

TIA,

Msgr. Antonio Staglianò, president of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, recently praised John Lennon’s famous song Imagine – which invites us to imagine a world without paradise, without religion, and ultimately without God – as “the most beautiful song in the world.”

He even stated: “I, bishop of the Catholic Church, tell you: John Lennon is right.”

Vacation without Sunday Mass

Dear TIA,

I was planning on going to Nicaragua this year for a vacation for about 2 weeks to see my family.

I have done some research and unfortunately there isn't a diocesan approved Traditional Latin Mass in the city/country, only Novus Ordo Masses, which I will not/cannot attend in good conscience. Also, I have tried to see if there might be an independent priest that celebrates the Traditional Mass but I haven't found anything yet.

I was wondering if I would be guilty of mortal sin by going on vacation to a country that I know I cannot fulfill my Sunday obligation. Especially since this vacation is for enjoyment and not for business.

Thank you, God Bless for your work.

     Sincerely,

     K.V.

TIA responds:

Dear K.V.,

We praise your determination not to attend a Novus Ordo Mass.

We had a similar case of a member of our staff who went to Portugal some years ago; he consulted a directory on where to find Tridentine Masses. It happens that the directory was outdated, and he found no place to attend the Tridentine Mass. To replace the Sunday obligation, he went to churches when the Novus Ordo Masses were not being said and prayed the Rosary. We think that it was a good solution.

We believe that this resolution could apply to your case, all the more so because your family lives in Nicaragua, and therefore you also have family reasons – not only a vacation – to make your trip.

Our Lady of Fatima told Sister Lucia and Our Lady of La Salette told Sister Melanie (# 31) that true Masses would become so rare during this great apostasy that the faithful would be reduced to praying the Rosary and to the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

So, sooner or later, on vacation or in normal life, we all will be in this condition.

     Cordially,

Fair Weather for Your Wedding

TIA,

An English business is claiming to guarantee fair weather on your big day – for a price, of course.

The company, Oliver’s Travels, is offering couples a “cloud-bursting” service that, they claim, allows them to offer a “100% guarantee” of “fair weather and clear skies for your wedding day”

The package, which costs a whopping £100,000 (approximately AUD $191,500) utilizes “cloud bursting” technology to ensure a rain-free day. Cloud bursting requires that small rockets be filled with silver iodide and then fired into the offending clouds.

This process gives “the water vapor something to condense around to produce rain,” they say on their blog.

The weather manipulation service, which is also known as cloud seeding, takes about three weeks to plan and requires the joint efforts of meteorologists and pilots, and works by “giving the water vapor something to condense around to produce rain.”

Yet here's another view by an "expert" at ABC:

QUOTE: Meteorology may have come a long way since its inception, but it is not possible for anyone -- whether it be the government, scientists or billionaires -- to control the weather, according to experts.
