Liturgical dancing Madrid

Cambodian dancers perform in Spanish parish

On August 17, 2011, invited by Jesuit Bishop Enrique Figaredo, at right, a group of Cambodian young women perform barefoot during a religious event in the San Francisco de Borja Parish, in downtown Madrid.

These were Buddhist ritual "blessing" dances. The women were dressed as apsaras or celestial nymphs. Figaredo promotes these dances under the pretext of raising funds for disabled Buddhists in Cambodia.

It was another extravaganza to desacralize the churches, made in the wake of the World Youth Day being celebrated in Madrid at that time.
