The Abbot Primate, superior of the Benedictine Order around the world, lives in Rome at Sant'Anselmo, the Benedictine headquarters. In 2000 Abbot Nortker Wolf of Bavaria was elected Abbot Primate. On September 21, 2012, he was re-elected to the position. In these photos you see him at one of his favorite recreations, playing rock music. He has played the electric guitar in the rock band Feedback since 1981. The group, which has released four CDs, takes its inspiration from The Rolling Stones and ZZ Top.
Abbot Wolf is also a front line promoter of ecology and environmentally sustained life for the body and spirit. He has written 19 books on these topics.
The Benedictine Order is the most powerful religious order in the Church. Abbot Wolf's life gives us an idea of the entire Order's position in the aggiornamento of Vatican II.
