New Statistics on Homosexuals
People Commenting
TIA,

Here is another report with the latest facts for your statistics on homosexuals. The U.S. Center for Disease Control's most recent data on the spread of sexually transmitted diseases reveals that among homosexual black men, the syphilis rates rose 134% between 2009 and 2010. During the same time frame, syphilis rates among the general population fell by 1.6%. The report follows.

Syphilis Rates Soar 134% among Homosexual Black Men,
Fall among General Population

Thaddeus Baklinski

WASHINGTON, DC, November 22, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The U.S. Center for Disease Control's (CDC) most recent data on the spread of sexually transmitted diseases reveals that among homosexual black men the syphilis rates rose a staggering 134% between 2009 and 2010. During the same time frame, syphilis rates among the general population fell by 1.6%.

CDC data "show a significant increase in syphilis among young black men who have sex with men (MSM), suggesting that new infections among MSM are driving the increase in young black men," the CDC report stated. "The finding is particularly concerning as there has also been a sharp increase in HIV infections among this population."

The CDC has estimated that practicing homosexual men account for 61% of the new HIV infections in the United States, driven by an alarming increase in new infections among young black homosexual men - a 48% increase in the period of 2006-2009.

"Studies suggest that people with gonorrhea, chlamydia, or syphilis are at increased risk for HIV," the CDC report concludes. "Given the increase in both syphilis and HIV among young black gay and bisexual men, it is particularly urgent to diagnose and treat both diseases."

Reaction to Hate Mail
People Commenting
Tradition in Action,

Thanks to TIA for printing all the hate mail received from around the world. It provides some levity in an otherwise depressing world.

The homosexuals who write to you must feel guilty in conscience or else why would they bother to write? Most have to resort to vulgar expressions in their comments which is the hallmark of the ignorant. Nothing intelligent to say? Fill the paucity of original thought with profanities.

For the 14-year old boy from Kent, England, "sue-aside" is spelled suicide. I suppose the level of education in England has declined as it has in the U.S. As regards his views of tolerance, he should try reading what G.K. Chesterton wrote of tolerance, i.e., that it is the virtue of the man without conviction.

We will not even comment on the hate-filled writers who obviously have little or no knowledge of the Bible yet attempt to apply biblical verses in their arguments. In doing so they display to the world their utter ignorance of Sacred Scripture.

Note to all the homo-writers (I refuse to misuse the word "gay" in referring to them): Jesus would forgive someone caught up in your sinful lifestyle if he truly repented, but He would never tolerate it just as he did not tolerate the hypocritical Pharisees.

Several of the homo-writers continue to spread various lies that homos are born that way. The most laughable of these lies is the one that said that a few weeks after conception a baby's sexual orientation is chemically chosen. Really? And the proof is, let me guess, research done by a homosexual person?

Why do the writers of Tradition in Action publish what they do about the Catholic Church's teachings about homosexuality? This is why: it is a charitable act to attempt to pull sinful people out of a sinful situation. It is also a work of mercy to instruct the ignorant.

One thought I will share with these unfortunate individuals is this. In all my life I have met and had to work with more than a few homosexuals. In every case, bar none, the family they came from had a broken marriage (almost always a one-parent home without a father). The only exception was one "family" that had a truly pathetic father figure. But we can be sure that the homo community would argue around this logic and say it is mere coincidence.

St. Catherine of Siena
People Commenting
Dear TIA,

I was recently looking into some information about St. Catherine of Siena, and found that on your Saint of the Day for this saint, you have described her as being from a family of 12. I found that she was a twin, following either 22 or 23 other children. This is a minor detail, but I felt you should be aware of this.

Also, I was surprised to learn that in the book, The Incorruptibles, parts of this saint were reportedly removed - namely, the head, an arm, and three fingers, which were given to various places prior to St. Antoninus, ordering that the body be placed in a more appropriate manner. I wonder about whether her arm and fingers replaced?

Many thanks to you for all of the dedication and love in creating a site filled with wisdom and beauty.

TIA responds:

Dear Dr. E.S.,

Thank you for your correction. We looked it up and it seems that there is a discussion about the number of children her parents had: it varies from 20 to 26. Also it seems that it is disputable whether she was the youngest, as some biographies affirm. Thus we have corrected the data on that Saint of the Day to include all these possibilities.

Unfortunately, we do not know whether her arm and fingers were replaced.

We are appreciative of your support and encouragement.

     Cordially,

Bees Flying Far Away

Dear Mrs. Catherine Croisette,

I read with interest your article on 'The Bees, A Symbol of the Church'.

As we will be marketing beeswax candles in Singapore, I would like to seek your very kind permission to use your article for press release in the Catholic News in Singapore, and probably, in Malaysia, as well; with acknowledgement to you.

I look forward to your favorable reply.

     Best regards

     D.F.
