Topless, Nausea & Religious Persecution
Francis with Topless Girl
Dear TIA,
Yet again, we see a Pope in close proximity to bare breasted native girls. Like John Paul II before him, Francis seems to have no problem with this and blesses their immodesty. In fact, he is giving his blessing to an occasion of sin.
And what of these girls! While there was the excuse of ignorance available to their ancestors, there is no excuse for them. One of the first acts of our missionary priests and nuns was to cover naked natives and train them in the discipline of modest dress. Has this been lost on this generation? Is the Blessed Virgin Mary Most Pure not their role model and if not, why? It seems to be that in the former mission fields there is a laxity in the practice of the True Faith which our missionaries in the past would never have tolerated.
Just as colonialism came to an end before it should have, traditional missionary activity had not completed its task before the onset of the destructive Vatican II. There is a dire need for the restoration of discipline in our Church. Instead of blessing such behavior, the Pope should have severely admonished these brazen young natives and refused to bless them until they dressed in a fitting manner, before the Vicar of Christ.
Yours faithfully,
C.P., Ireland

A Feeling of Nausea
Dear TIA,
Re: Ratzinger’s Anti-Scholastic Legacy
I admit to a feeling of nausea and apprehension and a reluctance to even ‘go there’ merely from reading the sub-heading ‘An attempt to break with the Real Presence’ to Dr. Byrne’s article on Ratzinger’s Anti-Scholastic Legacy.
What strikes one is the manifest intellectual and actual dishonesty of these prelates and ‘theologians’ who formulated and promulgated these ‘progressive’ and destructive ambiguities that have had such a devastating impact in hollowing out the bedrock truths of our faith.
Given their presumed knowledge of precisely what they were doing, one can only conclude that they were saturated in the most grave sin of pride. I can’t bring to mind any who have publicly and unequivocally repented.
Yours in Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
N.M.G.

Me, Myself & I
Dear TIA,
+PAX
The recent article of Fr. Alfredo Sáenz, SJ, on St. Catherine of Siena and the corruption of the clergy in her days was very interesting, partly because there is nothing new under the sun, as Ecclesiastes tells us.
May I make two small observations based on my own experience of monastic life? Regarding heresies, some monks and nuns, especially in the earlier years of their monastic lives, spend a lot of time reading the mystics and books on the spiritual life in general. This can encourage them to become quietly preoccupied with their interior states. For some it is then not difficult to move on to make a study of C. G. Jung, for example; others might become interested in Buddhist and Hindu meditation techniques, and they are certainly sincere, these travellers along the spiritual path.
As for corruption, I know a monastery in Europe where there might seem to be an altar dedicated to the most unholy trinity of Me, Myself and I, and many are the monks of that monastery who worship at that altar. There are some there for whom aggressive egomania is a virtue, indeed by their own reckoning it even makes them good monks.
Furthermore some of them admire aggressive egomania in those outside the monastery whom they encounter from time to time for whatever legitimate reason. It can become a basis for friendship. Fr. Sáenz might recognize here the charter of citizenship that he mentions in his article.
For my part I think of the words of Psalm 49 (Douay-Rheims translation): "To the sinner God hath said: Why dost thou declare my justices, and take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hast hated discipline and hast cast my words behind thee. If thou didst see a thief thou didst run with him and with adulterers thou hast been a partaker. Thy mouth hath abounded with evil, and thy tongue framed deceits. Sitting thou didst speak against thy brother, and didst lay a scandal against thy mother's son. These things hast thou done, and I was silent. Thou thoughtest unjustly that I should be like to thee, but I will reprove thee, and set before thy face. Understand these things, you that forget God, lest he snatch you away, and there be none to deliver you."
Am I right or wrong in thinking that the cult of the individual in the Western world is becoming increasingly aggressive?
I look forward to reading the rest of the piece.
In Christo,

Religious Persecution in China
Dear TIA,
Some days ago, the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom issued a document based on declaration of a Protestant pastor who was released from a Chinese prison.
Since the Vatican is in collusion with Communist China, we do not receive news – especially any criticism – from Catholic sources. The Baptists are the ones who still tell us what is going on there.
I transcribe below a few paragraphs of the official declaration of that Commission.
Keep up the good work.

China has no religious freedom, commission says
Diana Chandler
“Sinicization, or the complete subordination of religious groups to the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party’s) political agenda and Marxist vision for religion, has become the core driving principle of the government’s management of religious affairs,” the commission said in its fact sheet.
“Through regulations and state-controlled religious organizations, authorities incorporate CCP ideology into every facet of religious life for Buddhists, Catholic and Protestant Christians, Muslims, and Taoists.
“Enforcement of such sinicization policies has consistently resulted in systematic, ongoing and egregious violations of religious freedom and related human rights, including genocide, crimes against humanity, mass incarceration, enforced disappearances, and the destruction of cultural and religious heritage.”

Re: Biased Views of a Red Pope
Wow! What an eye opener. One would have to be blind to not see the anti-Catholic intentions of this "Pope".
Thank you for exposing his evil intentions in your review.
We are in dire need of the restoration of the true faith.
Viva Cristo Rey!
