Golden Calf, Profanations & Technate

Biased Omission

TIA,

The Vatican attacked Trump’s decision to close USAID alleging it will cause “catastrophic” consequences: the suffering and the death of many people who benefited from it.

Curiously, it did not say a word on the billions USAID has given to institutions that promote abortion – including various Catholic associations… It is clearly a one-sided statement.

For details, please, read here.

Nonetheless, the Vatican in principle is against abortion. How to explain this contradiction?

When the Vatican strongly attacks those who defund abortion and weakly preaches against abortion it reveals where its sympathy lies.

Ugly Architecture Harms Us

Dear TIA,

Ugliness is a disease, ugly architecture is "a pathogen hidden in concrete."

This is a very interesting video and perhaps unknowingly counter-revolutionary. Not perfect in all its points, but it's a "scientific" proof of beauty's beneficial effect on well-being.

Golden Calf

Dear TIA,

At Mar-a-Lago, a Trump-themed goat sculpture has become the center of controversy, drawing ire from Christian communities for its resemblance to a golden calf.

The goat with gold horns and heels is covered with $100 bills with Trump's face instead of Benjamin Franklin's, and the phrase 'In Trump We Trust' replaces the traditional 'In God We Trust.'

The idol’s base says “I love you” along with Trump’s signature.

Not true, shout his defenders.

Very true. Even Snopes admits the goat exists...

Growing Profanations

Dear TIA,

There have been 3 attacks on churches in the past week that are being shared on social media. It seems to be a growing trend of anger and physical violence against the progressivist structure. I thought it was significant, so I am passing it on.
  1. February 4: Man attacks priest during Mass at Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane Washington - A man rushed from the pews during a Novena service, punched one of the acolytes, and attempted to assault the priest, before he was apprehended. The man was said to be mentally disturbed. News here, better video footage here.

  2. February 7: Romanian man vandalizes altar in St. Peter's Basilica - A Romanian man climbed on the altar of St. Peter's basilica, kicked off the brass candleholders, and ripped off the altar cloth. He was apprehended by security and jailed. News source and video here. Some Brazilian Catholics rightly asked why no one did anything or reacted to stop the man, so they made a video comparison of this attack with a different attack in Brazil (unknown location and date), showing the healthy reaction of about 20-30 Brazilian men who immediately rushed the assailant and gave him a sound beating, here (please excuse the Novus Ordo music).

  3. February 9: Attempted stabbing of a priest at the Polish church of Holy Ghost Parish in Winnipeg, Canada - The assailant lunged at the priest with a knife, the priest ran, and the assailant drove his knife into the altar and sat down on one of the clerical altar chairs, being arrested shortly thereafter. News here, better video here.
These questions come to my mind: the physical attacks are certainly condemnable, but is progressivism now reaping the fruits of its attempted destruction of the Church? Are these attacks just the beginning (or perhaps a foretaste) of the Divine Justice that will fall upon the progressivist establishment and those who sought to despoil the Church by undoing her traditions and attempting to change her doctrine? Could these attacks be the symptom of a general possession of society that is increasing in its hatred for the Faith?

We can only pray for the Chastisement to come soon and for Our Lady to work her promised intervention, that her timing and will may be fulfilled.

     S.B.

Is Technate the Goal?

Dear TIA,

Has TIA covered anything on this subject of "Technate"? What a strange word, indeed! Until I read this commentary presented in the news.

I had never heard the term "technate" but Musk's association with it gives me the creeps. That Musk came out of a family associated with the occult is undeniable. Now I read of his family ties to this ambition...

Musk, known for his futurist ambitions and technological ventures, is the grandson of a former director of the Canadian branch of Technocracy Incorporated, an organization that once propagated these very ideas before its activities were curtailed by the Canadian government.

Whether Musk consciously channels this legacy or not, his influence within Trump’s circle has evidently revived interest in the concept of a self-sustaining North American Technate. From this perspective, Trump’s desire to acquire Greenland and secure control over the Panama Canal becomes less of an eccentric detour and more of a calculated step towards fulfilling a technocratic vision that has long been dormant but never entirely forgotten.

Reading of such crazed control and ambition makes me sigh for the times of the ancient monks in early Christianity whose account in a recent issue of TIA's newsletter, that of the Holy Family's Flight Into Egypt and their most precious "First Fruit", the first Egyptian Saint and Martyr, so greatly moved me.

I am privileged to have many items hand carved by the peoples in Bethlehem which I treasure more than ever. One of the pieces actually is of the Holy Family in their Flight. Now when I look at it each time, I contemplate your great article! I do hope TIA will publish more for us from that fine book.

In the statue I have, Mary is on the donkey holding the infant Jesus while Saint Joseph lovingly has his arm extended as in support of Her weary back as She sits upon the animal. Saint Joseph stands, holding in his other hand his beautifully carved staff. The pose is so natural. The donkey's head is lowered, eating hay for they have paused in their journey.

I brought the statue out to put on my dinette table now that the season of Epiphany has passed. Did you know that olive wood is the hardest wood in the world? This makes me even more appreciative of the labor of those who carve these sacred images for our edification. I am so glad I could support their livelihood in their most trying circumstances.

I think our only way forward in these times is the comfort and fortitude derived from such meditations and contemplations. As the world plunges into this "technate" mentality, greedy after the resources other nations can provide, what a contrast to think of how the Divine Child chose to not surround Himself with earthly resources!

In this same vein, on the subject of greed, may I remind our readers that there is more to the proposal to "own" Gaza and not let the people of Gaza return than may meet the eye. The seashore coastline of Gaza boasts massive deposits of untapped oil and natural gas within its territorial waters, discovered during the time of Yasser Arafat before he died.

Will such wealth ever be used for the good of the people of Palestine and the relief of its millions of refugees who for generations were relocated out of Gaza? Certainly not, if the "technate" planners have their way.

How good it is to remind ourselves, too, that while "man proposes, God disposes"!

Thank you once again for all that TIA provides us.

Ave Maria! Crux Ave!

     Blessings,

     E.Z., Ph.D.
