Weak Translations, Jewish Temple & Rosary

WeakTranslations

Dear TIA,

Salve Maria!

I want to thank Miss Salwa Bachar for her excellent analysis of the deliberately weakened translation of Fr. Salvany's book. It reminded me of a thought I had regarding the English-speaking Catholic world.

As far as I know, there was no major English-speaking Catholic country after England fell into heresy. Ireland was not a majority English-speaking nation as it is today and so I imagine that many translations were controlled by the Secret Forces so prevalent in English-speaking countries to continue to weaken the militancy of Catholics in these countries.

The Angelus Prayer is the most egregious example for me. "Ecce ancilla domini" does not translate to "behold the handmaid of the Lord." It translates to "behold the slave of the Lord." We know this from the Spanish version of the Angelus: "he aqui la esclava del Senor." How many more militant and serious Catholics would exist in the West if we were thinking of the slavery of our mother?

It reminds me of another strange example, which is the use of the Hebrew words for the Old Testament Prophets instead of the Greek. Why does the Douay Rheims Bible use Elias, Jeremias, and Messias while the rest use Elijah, Jeremiah, and Messiah? Is it perhaps because the Jewish influence in Protestantism guided them to use Hebrew instead of Greek, and most of the translations today, even Catholic ones, follow this standard?

If ever I say the Angelus in English I now say "slave" and if I am speaking of the prophets I use the Greek. I will not submit to this softening of our faith.

     In Jesu et Maria,

Contaminatted Encyclopedia

Dear Editor,

Re: English Translations Soften Their Originals

Thank you for yet another "surprise" that is somehow not...

Pallen..."was managing editor of the Catholic Encyclopedia from 1904 to 1920."

I read a couple days ago an item about the Catholic Encyclopedia that said that project was heavily influenced by the Modernism in that time period.

     God bless,

A Few Quatrains on Luther

Dear TIA,

Here is a short poem I wrote on Tuesday. It is about the ultimate end of every Protestant...

                Luther

A light at the end of the tunnel,
And who do I chance to meet
At the end of the Welcome Funnel
But a Judge at a Judgment Seat?

He looked at the ways I had striven
Before I had taken my leave,
But no favorable comment was given
Because I'd said I believe.

This so far as I could tell
Was the God I knew so well--
But the sentence He was laying
Was for my merely saying.

     In Maria,

Attempt to Rebuilt of the Temple

TIA,

Here is a summary of the miracle in 362 when Emperor Julian the Apostate tried to rebuitld the Jewsih Temple.

The prominent fourth-century Roman historian Ammianus Marcellinus recorded this momentous event in his Res Gestae (Book XXIII). His account provides a unique, largely non-Christian perspective on why the project abruptly halted. Key details of Ammianus Marcellinus’s account include:
  • Julian’s Motivation: He aimed to rebuild the Temple at an immense cost to glorify the ancient Jewish religion. Historians note he was also motivated by a desire to contradict Christian prophecy, as Jesus had foretold the Temple’s permanent destruction.
  • The Interrupted Work: Ammianus states that the provincial governor and Alypius pushed the building efforts with great vigor.
  • The Supernatural Event: According to Ammianus, the workers were halted by "terrifying balls of flame" that repeatedly burst forth from the foundation. He described these fires as making the site completely inaccessible, repeatedly burning the workers.
  • Project Abandonment: The historian recounts that because the element of fire continuously repelled the workers, they ultimately gave up on the enterprise.

Suspicious Geoengineering

TIA,

Re: Does EPA belong to Monsanto or will it serve the people

It will be interesting to see how SCOTUS rules in this case.

Glyphosate, the chemical Monsanto sprays into our atmosphere using Roundup, is a Class 2A carcinogen. Is glyphosate being used in geoengineering experiments?

A Class 2A carcinogen means that while there is limited evidence of cancerous cause in humans, there is sufficient evidence from experiments conducted on animals that this carcinogen causes cancer, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

Rosary’s Power

Dear Tradition In Action,

Quite a few years ago, I was blessed to receive healing from my alcoholism after receiving a Rosary from the late Fr Willie Rafferty, here in my native Donegal, Ireland. This was actually the third time I was given a Rosary.

First time while travelling by bus into London, I was drunk, asleep, and when I awoke, I discovered I was seated next to a Nun. We got to talking and she gave me her Rosary. I gave it away.

Years later, I met the late Bishop Edward Daly, Derry. He gave me his Rosary and again I gave it away.

Some years later, I was deeply touched after receiving a Rosary from Fr Willie Rafferty. Our Lady wasn't giving up on me. First a Nun, then a Bishop, and then a Priest.

This resulted in my conversion and return to the Sacraments, Confessions, Mass, Adoration, and of course the daily Rosary. I love the traditional Rosary, 15 decades, which I now pray daily.

I am very passionate about sharing my testimonial with the view to helping and inspiring others who are struggling with their faith or an addiction. My autobiography Don't Go There was adapted into a One Man Play. The late Bishop Seamus Hegarty wrote the foreword for this

Please see attached, the cover to my latest self-published book, S.I.N Soul In Need. Fr Jose Maniyangat wrote the foreword for this booklet.

Blessings and best wishes from Ireland
