TIA’s Fifth Biennial Event - 2025

The Prophecies of La Salette
& The Secret of Mary

Address by Dr. Marian T. Horvat - May 31, 2025
It is never any easy task to follow a talk by Atila, which is a charge that falls to me again today. But this time, it is easier. Atila situated us – and quite directly and objectively – in the dark and dangerous times in which we are living. I will complement it from a different perspective. So let us climb the mountain, and look down from Revelation to see where we are in the very grand picture of God’s time for man on this earth.

mth 5th annual event

Dr. Marian Horvat speaks on new discoveries of the secret of Our Lady of Salatte

The decadence we see is not the End of the World, but rather, the end of an era in History. We are living in the time when mankind has become so decadent that God will make a Judgment of Nations, or what we commonly call the Great Chastisement. After the punishment a purified remnant will fear and glorify the Lord, and will give glory to Our Lord Jesus Christ and Our Lady on earth by re-establishing not just the Holy Church He gave us, but also His Social Reign.

In Scriptures Zacharias prophesized that two-thirds of mankind will perish in this Great Chastisement – but that part left therein – what a glorious future God foresees for them: "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined: and I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say: Thou art my people: and they shall say: The Lord is our God.” (13: 9)

The New Testament in many places also affirms an era of peace and unity. For example, St. Paul tells us in a Letter to the Corinthians: "Christ will reign and all His enemies will fall at his feet "(1 Cor 15:25) to render Him their vassalage. That is to say, His Church will be gloriously triumphant throughout the earth.

We have not seen that time of full triumph yet, and this is, I propose, the time in the near future that those who live shall see. Thus should we welcome not just the deserved punishment, but also the very glorious future that will follow with the winds of the Holy Ghost and under the maternal guidance of Our Lady.

The Reign of Mary is a necessity

This is an important point for the naysayers who insist we have reached the End of the World. Let me review briefly a few points Mr. Atila Guimarães made about the need for the Reign of Mary in response to a question from a reader on our website. It is a very logical argument theologically and philosophically, and supports a great hope for the future.

creation

God created the universe & man to give Him glory, & this must happen before the end of the world

It is this, simply put: God created the universe and man for His external glory. He did not need to do this, His internal glory was complete and perfect. Being omniscient, He knew when He created man that this planned glory would be given to Him in History. He did not create something that was intended to fail.

Now then, there was indeed a time in History when that plan was being realized, when a Christendom was being built. But even at its height in the 13th century it was just a small part of the world – Europe and a few peripheries – that duly gave God and His Mother glory, and only for a short time. If the Middle Ages had not deteriorated it would have become the Reign of Mary.

But the Middle Ages did not reach its fulfillment. The plan of God was interrupted by what we call the Revolution – which began with the First Revolution, that is, the Humanism of the Renaissance and the Protestantism that came in its wake. Since then, there has been a massive work of destruction of that Christendom led by Satan, the father of the Revolution, until we have reached today what could be called the Reign of Satan.

But the last era of History will not be Satan’s reign. God established one enmity and it was between the Devil and the Woman, between Satan and his minions and Our Lady and her followers. And He decreed the end of that battle: The Virgin will crush the accursed Satan under her feet. (Gen 3:15)

apocolyhpse

God decreed the end of the battle between the Virgin &  the serpent: 'She will crush his head'

And this will happen. Our Lady at Fatima in 1917 and at La Salette in 1846, and even further back – Our Lady of Good Success in Quito in 1634 – confirmed Scripture and predicted that she will conquer Satan and establish the Reign of the Immaculate Heart before the world will end.

After the Great Chastisement, all the peoples of the world will recognize the true God and the true Church – ut omnes unum sint – that they may all be one, not in the ecumenical spirit spoken of in his encyclical by John Paul II and all the conciliar Popes – but truly one united under the Holy Catholic Church. Then, the necessary glory will be given to God in the last era, a glorious era that will precede the End of the World.

We who are experiencing this virtual reign of Satan on earth will suffer the deserved chastisement that God will send in our depraved times – as surely as He sent the flood in the depraved time of Noah.

But we who will live will also have the honor and joy to see the unexpected intervention of Our Lady from Heaven, who promised her intercession at the very moment “when the evil will appear triumphant and when the authority abuses its power.” This would mark, Our Lady of Good Success said, “the arrival of my hour, when, in a marvelous way, I will dethrone the proud and accursed Satan, trampling him under my feet and fettering him in the infernal abyss. ”(Our Lady of Good Success, Prophecies for Our Times, p. 18)

We will see all heresies banished to Hell, the Muslims and Jews converted as all nations come to worship the one true God in the one true Catholic Faith.

monarch

A Great Monarch will end the Revolution
& usher in the Reign of Mary

We will see a great Leader emerge in the Chastisement – the Innocent One,” as St. Hildegard von Bingen called him, the Restorer, as Blessed Anna Maria Taigi saw him, the Leader, as named by Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser, who said his intervention would “surpass all human imagination.” The Spanish Carmelite Bl. Francisco Palau described him as an Eliatic figure, the ‘Moses of the Law of Grace,’ who will come from Heaven to end the Revolution and install the Reign of Mary and usher in a long period of peace.

We should rejoice in this victory of Our Lady not just for ourselves and our children, who will no longer be threatened by so much filth and corruption and sins of the flesh that take so many souls to Hell. Rather we shall rejoice that finally God is given His due glory on earth. The light of God in man will shine again.

I encourage you to read the series on our website titled The Judgment of Nations about these prophecies – both from Scriptures and in private revelations – showing we are in the Latter Times, and not the End of the World. They all have three major points in common: This is the first part of my talk.

The Discovery of the Secret of LaSalette

discovery

The Vatican gave permission to enter the La Salette archives & publish this book on the findings

Now I will look more closely at the prophecies of Our Lady to the children Melanie and Maximin at La Salette on September 19, 1846. It is pertinent because that message sheds new light on the Latter Times and the Apostles of the Latter Days. Today we know that Our Lady at La Salette spoke of these Apostles with the exact same words used by St. Louis de Montfort almost 200 years earlier in his Treatise on True Devotion to Mary and his Fire Prayer, in which he makes a passionate call for the Apostles of the Latter Times.

In 2024 I heard about a book The Discovery of the Secret of LaSalette by Fr. René Laurentin & Fr. Michel Corteville, translated and published in 2002 in French and 2024 in English. The book is actually a summary of just the first part of the monumental 5,000 page doctoral thesis of Fr. Corteville, who was allowed access to the La Salette files in the Vatican Archives.

I believe that Fr. Rene Laurentin, a progressivist and one of the last living Vatican II periti (he died in 2017 at age 99) became the co-author to give this momentous work on La Salette a progressivist interpretation to soften its message. Nonetheless this book reproduces many original documents from the Vatican Archives that have never been published before.

The book presents for the first time the two letters sent to Pope Pius IX in 1851 in which Melanie describes the Secret; it also presents as authentic the full secret that was published in 1879 with the imprimatur of Bishop Zola, Bishop of Lecce in Italy.

Melanie la salette

The book affirms the sanctity of the seers Melanie & Maximin & the truth of the apparition

But that secret had been questioned, doubted and finally silenced because of the corrupt Cardinals and Bishops of France already at that time, who did all in their power – which was a lot – to keep it from being known and believed. The message – that you can now read – has received the approval of Popes – Pius IX, Leo XIII and St. Pius X; Saints – St. Peter Eymard, St. John Bosco, the Cure d’Ars, and many other high Prelates.

Despite all this, the powers of darkness has waged an unceasing war against the La Salette message, and the work was withdrawn from circulation due to the strong opposition of many high churchmen in Rome and France, In 1915, 11 years after the death of Melanie, the French Cardinals managed to have the Holy Office promulgate a decree NOT declaring the message false, but rather forbidding the faithful worldwide to comment on or discuss the message, which is why I have never commented on the message publicly before.

This book and thesis, however, liberate the secret. It destroys the prior prohibition because the Vatican itself allowed Fr. Corteville to search its archives, publicly defend his thesis and publish part of it for everyone to read. As the book notes, “The opening of the archives of the Sacred Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith de facto marked the end of this constrained silence.” (p. 286) So the Secret of La Salette can be read and commented on now by all Catholics.

This book also rehabilitates the seers Melanie and Maximim, presenting them as persecuted messengers of Our Lady who were faithful to their mission to the end, for the last words to Our Lady were these: “Well, my children, pass this on to all my people.” (Discovery, p.91)

Thus today we know with certainty that the prophecies of La Salette speak directly of the great crisis and corruption that would invade and usurp the Church. I have heard doubts expressed – even in traditionalist circles – about whether Our Lady really predicted such radical corruption in the clergy.

blessing homos

Now we know that she did; the words are true. Our Lady at La Salette in fact told Melanie “priests have become a cesspool of impurity.” And a bit further, “The sins of priests cry out for vengeance and vengeance looms over their heads. Woe to those priests and persons consecrated to God, who by their infidelity and wicked lives, are crucifying my Son again. … Vengeance is at their door.” (#2, p. 84)

And also this well-known prophecy is confirmed as authentic: “Rome will become the seat of the Antichrist.” (#28, p. 88)

Here are some other prophecies of Our Lady of La Salette that pertain so well to our times: God will permit “the old serpent to cause strife among the rulers, among all social bodies, and in every family.” (#26, p. 88)

hell

‘A great number of demons will be released from Hell & will abolish faith little by little’

In the year [--]64, Lucifer, with a great number of demons will be unleashed from Hell. They will abolish faith little by little, even in those consecrated to God. They will blind them in such a way that, unless there is a special grace, these persons will take on the spirit of the fallen angels. Various religious institutions will lose the Faith altogether and many souls will be lost.” (#11, p. 85)

Certainly this year ending in 64 coincides perfectly with Vatican Council II, which closed in 1965, and predicts the disastrous consequences that came from it.

In another prophecy again with only the numbers 65 shown (with the author’s suggestion that it would refer to 1865, but I believe is 1965) Our Lady at La Salette says: “In the year [--]65 the abomination will be seen in the holy places. In the monasteries and convents the flowers of the Church will be putrefied and the demon will establish himself as the king of their hearts.” (#18, p. 86)

She also foretold that God would send a Great Chastisement from Heaven, putrid Rome would be destroyed, Paris burned and many great cities engulfed in earthquakes. Finally the earth will open its bosom full of fire during three days of convulsions.

But afterwards, again, we have the victory and triumph of Our Lady. Melanie gives her words: “Satan will be plunged forever, with his subjects, into the eternal chasms of Hell. Then water and fire will purify the earth and consume all the works of men’s pride, and all will be renewed: God will be served and glorified! The whole world will be Catholic. Then, until the end of the world the laws will remain Catholic, until little by little men become lukewarm.” (#33, p. 90)

So then, you might ask, what will end the Reign of Mary? It is very interesting: “The world will become lukewarm because of a false mercy shown to those who violate the law. Therefore, the good will not be protected anymore.” (p. 101) It will be same evil error that has taken place today: the tolerance for error in the name of a false charity. That is why it will be so important to have suspicion and vigilance in the Reign of Mary.

apostles

‘The Apostles of the Latter Days will work greater miracles than the first Apostles’

When she wrote about the Era of Peace to follow the Chastisement in the secret published in 1879, she was asked why she did not reveal this era of peace before. Melanie’s reply is very interesting and was unrevealed, to my knowledge, until now:

“Because it reveals such amazing Secrets of the Divine Mercy, that if they were made known to mankind, instead of praying to ward off events, people would be rushing to see them happen, so as to rejoice all the sooner in the unheard triumph of the Church.” (p. 100)

Also, the book reveals the “sight” Our Lady gave Melanie of the Apostles of the Latter Times – who will be like the Apostles of the Early Church after the descent of the Holy Ghost. They will be an army of men who will play an important role in these times, emerging to preach and convert, as well as destroy the evil. (pp. 256-257) This is the part in the book where the authors only summarize the newly revealed parts. I believe there is much more.

The secret revealed on September 19, 1846, ends with Antichrist and the end of the world, even including words about the Last Judgment. It will take place in a flash, with Our Lord presiding over the Judgment with His Cross, ”but it will be the Archangel Michael who will pronounce the judgment.” (p.102)

judgment

Melanie saw the Latter Times, the victory of Our Lady & long time of peace & the Final Judgment

There is even a part in the secret revealed in the book that deals with the souls in Limbo, who will resurrect with the elect, and humble and prostrate themselves before God, who will restore them to their innocence by means of the Blood of Christ and place them in the Terrestrial Paradise. Thus, they will not have the same glory as the elect, for, as Melanie explains: “The elect, having suffered with Our Lord, will have a glory far higher than the human race would have had even in their state of innocence.” (p. 102)

The handwritten secret with these revelations were carried to Pius IX in 1851 and kept in his nightstand. Leo XIII studied them a few months after his election in 1878, and invited Melanie to meet him. In 1999 this document was discovered by Fr. Corteville among Pope Leo XIII’s papers in the Vatican Archives, and finally revealed to the public in his doctoral thesis and this book. (p. 134)

The Secret of Mary

Now I come to the third and last part of my talk, answering the practical question Americans like to ask. But what do we do? How do we become part of The Reign of Mary? There is an answer to that question, and it comes first from Our Lady herself, who each of the six times she appeared at Fatima told us to pray the Rosary every day. No, not the Divine Mercy – but the Rosary.

rosary

‘After the Holy Mass, there is no prayer of greater merit than the Rosary’

Long ago Our Lady revealed to Blessed Alan de la Roche, the Dominican who re-established the Rosary devotion in the 15th century, that after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there was no more excellent devotion or one of greater merit than that of the Rosary. (St. Louis de Montfort, The Secret of the Rosary, 28th Rose)

At the first apparition to the three shepherds in Fatima, Our Lady, asked for the Rosary, but she also told them she would also appear a 7th time. It is one of the great mysteries of the future. Will it be the intervention of Our Lady in History? Or will it be after the Chastisement when she could actually appear on earth to inaugurate her Reign?

Marvelous thoughts like these we should try to contemplate even as we pray the Rosary, asking at the same time for the coming of the Chastisement, the intervention of Our Lady and the advent of her Reign, as they help us rise above the darkness we see around us today.

Yes, the Rosary is a powerful weapon Our Lady gave us for these days. In Sister Lucy’s last public interview in December 1957, she said, “The last means that God will give to the world for its salvation are the Holy Rosary and My Immaculate Heart.”

So, let us turn now to the devotion of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We have an answer about how we can hasten the Reign of Mary from one of its prophets, a French priest persecuted for preaching True Devotion to Our Lady by a clergy that was already very corrupt. He was born in 1673 and died in 1716. He is St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort.

battle last times

The Apostles of the Latter Days
will be warriors against the Revolution

St. Louis de Montfort is a prophet who announces the coming of the Reign of Mary. He foresaw the deluge of fire – of Justice – that God will send from Heaven that will end the Revolution and will purify humanity so that the new Era might begin.

In his famous Fire Prayer he begs that this deluge of fire come and be enkindled with “so much strength and sweetness that all nations, the Muslims, the idolaters and even the Jews will burn in it and be converted.” He sees the Chastisement as terrible but good and cleansing.

And he calls out in that Fire Prayer for the Apostles of the Latter Times, who must rise up to put out the fire in the Church, the slaves of Mary who will rise up to crush her enemies – they are her enemies because they are the enemies of her Son. They will be Children of Mary formed in her, just as Christ was formed in her body,

Already in the 17th century St. Louis was announcing the Reign of Mary as something necessary and certain. But, he asks emphatically in his Treatise on the True Devotion to Mary: “When will this happy time come?” (p. 155)

He gives the answer, which has been largely ignored by mankind: “This happy time will come when Mary will be established as Mistress and Sovereign in hearts.” (p. 134) It is the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary that Our Lady asked for in Fatima. Sadly that order – like the command for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart – has not been heeded by the Popes of our time.

our lady

What is it to ‘breathe Mary,’
as St. Louis affirms we must do?

The Reign of Mary will come, he continues, only when True Devotion to Mary – as he preached it, which is slavery to Our Lady – is known and practiced. (cf. p. 155) This perfect practice will bring about a special union of Our Lady with souls. This is the secret he reveals in his Treatise of True Devotion.

There was one line in it that touched me in particular: We must, he affirms, “breathe Mary as the body breathes air.” And again he asks: “When will that day come when souls will breathe Mary as the body breathes air?”(p. 154)

It is something to contemplate, and I hope you will return home with that line singing in your soul and will ponder upon it. What is it to breathe Mary?

It is to create around us the ambience of Our Lady, to make an atmosphere saturated with her presence and spirit. It is to practice the good customs inspired by Christian Civilization and not the Cultural hippy Revolution, to wear the modest and refined clothing and not the “styles of the world that will come and offend my Son grievously,” as Our Lady told Jacinta at Fatima.

It is to install the Reign of Mary in your own homes and hearts first, returning to the pious devotions, good customs and language, following the liturgical year. It is to fight the Revolution – the whole Revolution: To “breathe Mary” is to be counter-revolutionary in our thinking and way of being.

For this, it is necessary to know and understand the Revolution, which is why it would be good for any man or woman in whom the light of reason still sparks in his soul to read the book Revolution and Counter-Revolution written by the mentor of TIA, Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. It sets out the process of the Revolution, and situates us in History so we can understand our times and counter the spirit of the modern world. That is why we are fighting for the Counter-Revolution.

The need to resist & fight error

In these days we are invited to this great union with Our Lady and to the great mission it entails.

But in this Secret of Mary there is something that is little understood by modern men, so saturated with the teachings of false charity and tolerance for error. Sadly, it is rarely preached from pulpits. Even in his day, St. Louis de Montfort was forbidden to preach in all but two regions of France precisely because the True Devotion to Mary he was preaching to the people called on them to fight the errors of the times – which was a rampant worldliness and softness, the corruption of the clergy, a Jansenism that denigrated the role of Our Lady, He was persecuted, as counter-revolutionaries are today, because he preached the need to fight error.

fight error

As Catholics we are called
to hate the Revolution & fight it

There is an important point to consider here, a crucial counter-revolutionary point: That is, we should hate the evil – the blasphemies, impurities and heresies of our days – and fight against it with all our means.

We should do this to please Our Lady, who is as terrible as an army in battle array to the Devil and his followers, especially, St. Louis de Montfort tells us, in these latter times. The Army of Mary God is calling for these Latter Days to battle for her must be like her, terrible as an army in battle array to the Devil and his followers. They must be like her, with no sympathy for the evil. They must be like her, taking a position of complete rejection of every evil.

Few understand this important truth that is being silenced not just since Vatican II, but even centuries before: The more we hate what Our Lady hates – more we will love what she loves.

This is an important part of the Secret of Mary taught by Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira: It is not enough to love the good; we must hate the evil and all that offends her Son. To be pure like her, we must truly hate all the impurities and blasphemies that she hates; to be orthodox in our Faith like her, we must have no tolerance for the errors of the false religions. We must oppose the revolutionary evil around us and, to the degree to which we are able, fight to destroy that evil.

Love of Eternal Wisdom

I would like to end with a word from another book by St. Louis de Mont-fort titled The Love of Eternal Wisdom. It is a lesser known work, but very rich and pertinent to our times, I believe. First, he tells us that we should be seekers of Wisdom. Then should we be fortunate to receive this great gift, where are we do lodge Him, when our hearts are so sullied, impure and filled with revolutionary inclinations. How do we make our hearts worthy of His Majesty?

love of eternal wisdom

As Catholics we are called to hate and fight evil

“Here is the great counsel,” says St. Louis de Montfort. “Here is the admirable secret:” If we surrender ourselves and everything we possess entirely to Our Lady as her slaves, she will enter our hearts. Our hearts become united to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, forming, as it were, one heart. (#211, p. 40)

Then, the Eternal Wisdom, seeing her there, is drawn there like a magnet. The magnet who drew Him to earth for the benefit of all men in general still draws Him in a particular way to every man in whom He finds Our Lady. Once we invite into our hearts the Immaculate Heart of Mary and make our heart one with hers, we shall and in a short time possess Divine Wisdom through her intercession.

And, St. Louis de Montfort continues, where Mary resides, the Holy Ghost also will be drawn, and He will come as He did to the Mary, to make present in our souls Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is how the Apostles of the Latter Times will be formed.

When we as Catholics are truly united to her Immaculate Heart, are truly one in spirit with her, wonderful things will happen on earth. It is the secret of Mary that Our Lady wants us discover in these calamitous days, to prepare us for the just Chastisement, but also to invite us to the battle against Satan and his minions, and to witness her great victory and the triumph of the Church that lie ahead.
