Official Report on the Pandemic - IV

Harming Children in the Name of ‘Safety’

Phillip Mericle
Most people remember the lockdowns of the Covid-19 “pandemic.” A few weeks to “flatten the curve” turned to months, then years, as the world wobbled between fear and exhaustion.

The egregious deceit of our “experts” would not be so bad had it not been deliberate. They knowingly lied to the public – as we have seen here, here and here – and then proceeded to attack any dissenter who questioned their “scientific” opinions. Many were at risk of being deprived of their livelihood for the “crime” of being open to opposite perspectives.

Inconsistencies, contradictions and wildly fluctuating pronouncements of what was or wasn’t “science approved” only worsened the matter and eroded public trust. The result: public confidence in our “leaders” plummeted to low levels from which it has yet to recover. There was no transparency, only Fauci’s constant fraudulent statements and impositions.

Yet mistrust of government may not be the worst thing that came from the time of lockdowns. To truly realize the scope of damage done by our “leaders,” we must look at what harm was wrought to a very particular – and most vulnerable – part of our population: the children.

Admittedly unneeded masks for children

One of the most serious and far reaching harms done by Covid madness was what happened to children. Around the world schools were closed and children locked inside their homes to stew in an atmosphere of fear. Later, the schools were reopened but masks were required; the surreal situation epitomized in band rooms with masked students still trying to play wind instruments in a way that would be comical were it not so sad. As Col. Wenstrup of the Select Subcommittee points out, neither computer classes at home nor classes with masked students could replace unimpeded face-to-face interactions in a school or home environment.

This is insanity

The House of Representatives Official Report, which we are analyzing in this series, deemed as incalculable the educational, psychological and social damage done to these unfortunate children in the name of “safety.” The Report concluded that it was all a farce: Children are at greater risk from any normal flu than they were from Covid (p. 213).

Masks were but one of the many harmful mistakes foisted on the world’s children. Initial attempts were made by the CDC to justify masking, yet Wenstrup's Report found those studies to be severely flawed (pp. 207-209). Many of those studies claiming to support the efficacy of masks for schools were made in July and August, only months after the supposed Covid “outbreak,” when most schools had few or no students present at all. The results showed fewer cases of Covid infections in these empty or almost empty classrooms, and this “scientific datum” was used as a justification for forcing masks on children.

Other serious studies found no statistical significant difference between masked and unmasked schools, but this fact was dismissed. The CDC and the White House went forward with public statements supporting masks for children returning to school in defiance of the evidence (p. 209).

As stated previously, Fauci admitted after the fact that masks do not work. Under pressure he even confessed that he could not recall if any scientifically rigorous studies on masking were performed at all. Let us not forget that the man who reduced the world to a humiliating subservience in the name of “science” now says he does not recall the fundamental reasons to do so (pp. 210-211).

Ridiculous demands for children

Covid graph

The orange line shows the Covid infection in States that didn’t mandate masks; the black line in States that mandate it. No difference: Masks did not work

By order of the CDC, masking was required for all students of age 2 and older regardless of vaccination status. This was proclaimed in spite of the fact that the World Health Organization (WHO) itself did not suggest masking for children age 5 or younger since they are at low risk of infection, citing it is “not in their overall interest,” and they probably would not be able to wear the masks properly anyways (p. 212).

So we see that children were not at high risk for Covid-19 (p. 213), yet by order of the CDC schools were closed and when they reopened masks were imposed. The damage that followed that draconian measure was very real: In 2023 the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association released data showing two-thirds of speech language pathologists are reporting a significant increase in referrals, yet this would only be the tip of the iceberg of the damage done.

What lockdowns did to the youth

Wenstrup's report cites data showing that babies born during the pandemic show an alarming decline in cognitive development tests scores, down from the pre-pandemic 100 points to an average of 78. Other studies show the premature aging of the brains of teens during lockdown, a rise in young adults forced to move back in with parents at levels surpassing that of even the Great Depression, and a stunted vocabulary for babies born during those years (p. 217). Teen deaths by drug overdose during the pandemic rose a tragic 108%; likewise the teenager suicide rate spiked dramatically (p. 216).

Unmask children

The government was deaf to parents’ protest

Given the above analysis presented by the report, we see that the damage done to the psychology and development of an entire generation of children was cataclysmic. Based on fraudulent data, misleading numbers and flawed studies, we here in the United States, and many other nations, forced unnecessarily extreme measures on children in ways that will have incalculable negative consequences on their psyche and education for many years. The obsessive mania for “safety” has literally stunted children’s brains.

What negatively affects the youth negatively affects the future of the world. The insanity of the pandemic lunatics has wounded an entire generation of children in ways that will have consequences for decades to come.
